Leslie A. Young is the owner of The Benefits Center in Hampton, VA, which she established in September 2014. She is a licensed Health & Life Insurance agent in Virginia, North Carolina, and additional states. Beginning her career in 2008 as a captive agent with Humana, Leslie later took a leap of faith to expand her carrier options and founded The Benefits Center so she could offer a wider range of plans. Now appointed with Humana, UHC, Sentara Healthcare, Anthem, Aetna and more, she provides individuals and business owners across the Tidewater area with a variety of insurance options.
Leslie serves on the Hampton Triad committee, working with the Hampton Sheriff’s Office to educate seniors about local and national scams. She also volunteers with the Operation Thunder ministry at her church, reaching the Richmond area and surrounding communities to serve meals to families facing food insecurity.

 

In 2002, after her mother became seriously ill and passed away from chronic conditions, Leslie became the primary caregiver for her father following his stroke, which left him partially paralyzed. Through this experience, she gained hands-on knowledge of long-term care facilities and the Department of Social Services, helping families understand their options during major life transitions. This journey sparked her passion for serving seniors and the broader community by connecting them with resources, tools, and programs they may not know exist.

 

Leslie regularly hosts educational seminars at Boo Williams Sportsplex and in her office to help the local community understand their healthcare options, Social Security rules, and the Affordable Care Act (Marketplace). Her mission is simple: to help the community make better healthcare decisions.
